This challenging position requires a strong understanding of the full cycle of repairs, starting with DCI and quotes, and concluding with delivery and acceptance. Production supervisor ensures that dates are in control, and determines if we need to outsource processes and/or work overtime to meet delivery dates. Production supervisor keeps an eye on the availability of manufactured parts, purchased parts, and outside operations to align with Flowserve’s shop labor. We’re looking for skilled communicator who will keep information updated and flowing through effective face-to-face contact, emails, phone calls, and posted metrics.

This position reports to Plant Manager

  • Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labor and equipment to meet customer’s requested delivery dates

  • Develop employees’ skill matrix and cross-training plans for efficiency and productivity improvement

  • Develop production schedules and maintain the inventory of customer buffer/safety stock.

  • Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts and assemblies through departments according to production schedule and customer’s requirement.

  • Reviews production schedules and related information to determine that each multiple milestones are met and achieved.

  • Train or oversee training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques.

  • Responsible for making recommendations/decisions regarding hiring, evaluating, promoting, and salary adjustments for associates in the identified scope of responsibility.

  • Work with Purchasing and Production Control to insure parts and materials are available as required accordingly to Bill of Material and job’s specifics.

  • Familiarity with Principles of Lean Mfg. with experience in continuous improvement process (CIP) within manufacturing environment, experience in supply chain, operations, purchasing, planning, materials management, product management

  • Aligns individual performance goals and measures

  • Proven ability to pursue the optimal balance of quality, delivery, and cost in all activities to ensure on-time delivery and customer’s satisfaction

Position Requirements:

  • Operations Management degree in related field or equivalent experience in production planning, scheduling, engineering or Business degree from an accredited university. An equivalent combination of years of experience and industry knowledge is acceptable

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) plus years of working experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience in supply chain, operations, purchasing, planning and materials management.

  • Strong cost center management experience and have a solid track record in delivering positive results.

  • Well organized and a highly motivated team player.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across organizational boundaries.

  • Must project a collaborative, result-oriented approach to completing day to day tasks.

  • Possess the ability to project a positive attitude in a fast paced, high pressure environment

  • Ability to meet deadlines and multiple demands.

  • Able to interpret industry standards, technical drawings, and manufacturing procedures.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and paperwork

  • Clear and positive verbal and written communication skills

  • Must have a successful track record of leadership, promotes teamwork and positive relationships.

  • Good organizational skills, able to establish priorities and complete a high volume of work to specific deadlines

  • Strong working knowledge of engineering principles as well as materials management with an emphasis on shop floor scheduling.

  • Proven record of safety performance in a manufacturing plant Must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Office

  • Familiar with capacity planning, forecasting and work scheduling

  • High degree of initiative and ownership


  • Experience working within machine shop environment. Familiar with Quality Systems in Quality Controlled environment

  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems in manufacturing environment Plant Management/Supervision experience preferred.

  • Must have demonstrated leadership ability in a manufacturing environment and be able to delegate effectively in a team environment and, mentor, couch and develop others.

  • Strong cost center management experience as part of their respective operational responsibilities and have a solid track record in providing positive results.

  • Demonstrated skills in managing and developing personnel.

  • Strong leadership skills, leading people in a functional organization in a matrix environment.

  • Operations Management degree preferred.
