Position Summary :
Work with Suppliers and Flowserve personnel to purchase material as requested by the Oracle MRP system and requisitions. Primary responsibilities are to purchase all types of cast or molded valve parts such as sand, shell, investment, die cast and injection molded parts.
Purchase quality parts on time, inventory reduction, and cost reduction.
Work with Sales and Planning to quote costs and deliveries, requiring an understanding of Oracle, MRP, all casting processes, materials, NDE and lead-time requirements.
Work with Quality Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to solve quality, cost, and delivery issues.
Work with Advanced Products Group and Marketing in the development of new products.
Work with Global Supply Management as requested.

Must have a minimum of 2 years experience utilizing ERP system(s).
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Experience with Oracle ERP System.
Experience buying in the valve industry.
