This is a Machinist level 3 position located in Deer Park, TX. The candidate must have manual experience in both the lathe and mill departments. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the general manufacturing environment to include, able to work safely, able to machine close tolerances +/- .001, precision tool grinding, use of overhead jib cranes, ergonomics, and inspection equipment.
This is for weekend shift (Saturday - Monday 6:00 AM-6:30 PM)
Duties include, but not limited to:
Able to implement preventive maintenance schedule and report equipment issues to management.
Provides technical assistance for common equipment issues.
Applies in depth proficiency in all data entry systems and processes.
Works closely with other machinists and management in the installation and application of common machine tooling.
Controls individual tooling usage in order to ensure maximum tool life and longevity.
Communicates tooling issues and recommendations to management.
Performs all aspects of manufacturing within production standards with minimal supervision.
Assist in the training of other machinists and their ability to perform within the standards.
Communicates suspected equipment or tool failure in a timely manner.
Supports and participates in CIP processes. Takes on an active role in at least one CIP from start to finish.
Demonstrates an advanced understanding of ISO procedures and uses them to better manage work processes and identify problems.
Maintains minimal scrap and rework on all manufactured parts. Reports all discrepancies to management immediately. Recognizes the common causes of scrap and shares that knowledge with other Machinists.
HS Diploma or GED
5+ years of relevant experience
Experience operating a Manual Lathe and Mill
Previous experience in gauge training, geometric tolerancing, and blue print reading
Must be able to hold a tolerance to .0004
Must be willing to work overtime including weekends and participate in the call out program
Ability to operate and maneuver around machinery safely to protect yourself and coworkers
