Position Description:

The Business Analyst is responsible for supporting and managing a variety of customer facing analytics needs including, but not limited to forecast projections, market level pricing, region / industry / product performance (and combinations therein), and various dashboard development as required by the Sales and Commercial Operations organization. They will work collaboratively with a variety of functions notwithstanding the Sales and Commercial Operations teams to align these analytics with business strategies and objectives.

Superior communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work cross-functionally with other areas of the organization, strong analytical skills, multi-tasking ability, project management and a professional demeanor are the keys to this position. Strong organizational skills are required to be able to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. The incumbent must be able to work in a highly visible, dynamic and fast paced environment. They must also have a curiosity, desire and strong enjoyment of diving into available data for the purpose of developing new insights to grow the front end of our business.

This position reports directly to the Manager, Commercial Operations (Reporting & Analytics).

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Support and continuously evolve reporting and analytics for S&OP (sales and operations planning) needs and the MOR (monthly operations review) process

  • Support the business with clear and insightful analysis applying modeling techniques leveraging the data at hand

  • Continuously enhance and implement business tools, reporting and analytics so sales management, commercial operations teams and operations can drive improved forecasting accuracy and sales growth.

  • Conduct market level pricing analytics to aid sales and Commercial Operations organizations

  • Conduct data mining / analytics to provide insights across products, markets and geographies for the purposes of growing the front end of the business.

  • Develop other demand information and analytics for Executive Management, Commercial Operations, Sales and Marketing as the needs are identified.

  • Conduct various data auditing, aggregation, validation and reconciliation within the data made available to you

  • Support the annual strategic bookings process and plan.

Position Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics & Finance, Information Technology or related discipline.

  • Technical skills:

  • Databased knowledge = SQL server required, knowledge of Hadoop and MS Azure is a plus.

  • Analysis and visualization: Advanced (MS) Office and Tableau are required. Power BI is a plus.

  • Programming languages: SQL is required, Python & R are a plus.

  • Statistical techniques: Application of basic hypothesis testing is desired, knowledge of various parametric and non-parametric testing methods is a plus.

  • Minimum 1 year preferably in a statistic, reporting, process improvement or analytical role

  • CIP Green and/or Black Belt attainment is a plus


  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

  • Organizational skills - ability to multi-task, prioritize, and execute on assigned deliverables

  • Facilitation skills - emphasis on coordinating customer relationships with internal functions/groups; ability to solve issues by coordination across cross-functional areas

  • Strong cross-functional team player

  • Ability to change direction quickly based on analytic needs

  • Ability to communicate complex findings and ideas in a plain language

  • A strong desire to data mine and search for patterns that could create new insights

  • Enjoy discovering and solving problems

  • Strong organizational skills - ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously

  • A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • A high level of proficiency with Tableau

  • Experience with real-time analytics, business intelligent platforms and cloud solutions such as MS Azure

  • Ability to travel on occasion
