This position is responsible for the overall scheduling of internal machining and assembly of sub-components, as well as the flow and availability of materials to support customer sales order schedules. Assists with effective scheduling of machining resources, coordinates materials with production planners and buying group, and maintains proactive communication with the Production Planners related to work order completion dates and materials shortages.
Develop Sales & Operating Plan summaries for assigned product families and selected SKU’s including demand, inventory and production data
Lead efforts to install standard processes for the Master Production Scheduling function, in accordance with MRPII methodology
Develop valid, feasible schedules for assigned area based on equipment, labor and raw material availability
Interact frequently with sales, purchasing and manufacturing personnel to balance supply and demand
Responsible for valve and machine lead-times
Achieve target customer service levels and inventory turn levels based on forecast error and bias trends, manufacturing capacity/flexibility and customer service and inventory turn goals. Review monthly
Publish and perform root cause analysis on key metrics including Customer Service Level, Actual vs. Scheduled Productions, Obsolete and slow moving inventory management
Accurately schedule internal work orders to support customer sales order shipment schedules, taking into consideration manufacturing resource capacities and material availability
Manage re-order points and batch sizes for internal work orders to support production and delivery goals while managing inventory levels
Proactively communicate with Production Planners regarding material availability and expedite requests
Daily running and resolution of workbench, component shortage reports, discrete order reports and exception reports
Analyze and review orders and workload for accuracy
Process and disposition manufacturing and vendor scrap on a timely basis
Support CIP activities in the assigned area
Continual analysis of obsolete and slow moving inventory to look for substitution and modification opportunities
Provide daily-bucketed schedules by SKU to manufacturing to ensure production compliance of metrics to measure performance
Effective interpersonal, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Bachelor’s Degree in business or a production control related field.
3 to 5 years manufacturing experience in a similar role.
ERP/MRP transactional experience required.
Proficiency with Excel spreadsheet development and data analysis
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to work in a team environment and possess good communication with all levels of personnel.
Oracle experience preferred
APICS CPIM certification preferred
