- Quality Control
a. Perform mechanical and visual inspections of castings, metal fabricated parts, etc.
b. Understand and monitor gage reliability, repeatability, and calibration.
c. Understand and apply relevant standards, procedures and work instructions.
d. Interpret mechanical drawings and performance specifications.
e. Perform audits, surveillance and source inspection of suppliers and subcontractors.
f. Interact with the functional areas including manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, production and field service/repair to evaluate failure trends, product quality problems, and quality issues.
g. Interact with customers and suppliers on audit results and quality issues plus resolution of any problems within process and final product acceptance.
h. Provide input, guidance and coaching to others to insure continuous improvement.
i. Provide quality support for in-process and final inspection to establish quality standards and meet customers’ requirements.
j. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
k. Be able to perform basic data analysis and perform root cause analysis.
l. Be able to plan, organize and deliver projects/work on schedule to meet performance objectives.
- Quality Assurance
a. Assist QA Engineer in developing procedures, implementing quality plans, special reports, conduct capability studies and other special assignments to support quality improvement.
b. Provide training resource for all associates in inspection techniques, use of measuring equipment, product quality requirements and general training
c. Perform product inspection, documenting disposition of specified requirements, and assist in accurately appraising and verifying correct product disposition.
d. Maintain gage calibration system, procedures and administration of contract calibration services.
e. Assist QA engineer in the design and specification of new gaging.
f. Determine best measurement methods and perform first article inspections (all dimensions on drawing) of product as requested.
g. Perform required dimensional, mechanical and electrical reliability testing and develop reports detailing results as required.
h. Conduct in-process audits, coach and train operations personnel on performing self-inspection.
i. Perform root cause analysis on quality issues; make recommendations on changes to work and quality standards.
j. Assist QA Engineer in developing inspection plans.
k. Perform supplier sources inspection, conduct supplier process audits.
l. Ensure compliance with applicable manufacturing, safety and regulatory standards.
Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
High School or Short course technical Diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years’ experience in manufacturing or related experience (i.e. trade school, apprentice school training, etc.)
With knowledge on ISO-9001, API Q1, API 6D monogram, ASME B16.34 and ASTM standards.
Demonstrated ability to use hand precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, Capable of calculating basic mathematical functions including computation of rate, ratio and percent.
Capable of reading and interpreting mechanical machining and assembly drawings.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret bills of materials, parts lists and material specifications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
With background on Non-Destructive Examination. Preferably certified to ASNT SNT – TC 1A NDE RT, LP, UT, MP level II
With valid welding inspector certification – CWI or equivalent
